ASU in-home aged care workers have been on the frontline during the Covid-19 pandemic.
They have continued to deliver essential caring services to vulnerable members of our community while keeping themselves and their aged clients safe.
They are some of the true champions of our communities.
But their critical contribution to vulnerable older people who still live in their own homes has been ignored by the Morrison Government.
The federal government paid an Aged Care Retention Bonus to all aged care workers except in-home aged care workers who work for Victorian councils.
These essential workers wouldn’t quietly accept being excluded by the federal government.
They got organised, and they fought back.
So far, over 700 messages have been sent to the federal minister demanding access to the Aged Care Retention Bonus for council in-home aged care workers.
You can help these dedicated council workers get the Aged Care Retention Bonus they deserve by adding your voice to their campaign.
You can sign their petition here: https://www.megaphone.org.au/petitions/600-aged-care-retention-bonus-not-for-everyone.
And don’t forget to share it with your friends and family.
We need to support these essential workers who do so much for vulnerable members of our community.
