On Sunday the Premier announced that from 11.59pm on Wednesday 22 July face coverings will be mandatory for people living in metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire when leaving their homes for the 4 permitted reasons – including work.

Face coverings in regional Victoria continue to be recommended in situations where maintaining 1.5 metres distance is not possible. However, anyone coming from regional Victoria into metropolitan Melbourne or Mitchell Shire for work, or any other reason will also be required to wear a mask. If someone is travelling from Melbourne to regional Victoria they must continue to wear their mask at all times.

Face coverings can include a mask, a scarf, or a bandana. While these face coverings may be suitable to wear on your commute to work, they may not be suitable or safe for you to work in.

There is not one solution that fits all.
