Your new enterprise agreement will soon go out to vote.
Unfortunately, the unions cannot endorse the offer as it does not meet the standards that members have indicated are important. Management still believes they can ram this through. Now it’s time for you to send a strong message to TasWater and VOTE NO!
There are still many concerns that have not been addressed. These include:
- Just 2% wage increases with no CPI safety net – with CPI now sitting at 3.6%. Management will try and spin that your pay offer is 2.5% but this is untrue as that would mean YOU are funding the government-mandated superannuation increase. The CEO has also received significant increases in his remuneration over the last 4 years.
- No commitment to maintaining the current gap between the legal minimum superannuation rate and the rate that TasWater provides.
- Ignoring many other important claims which would provide more equality for staff.
If you aren’t happy with this result, now is your time to VOTE NO.
It is critical that you talk to other staff in your area about why it’s important that they vote no too. Please share this notice with them.
A strong NO vote gets us back to the table to continue discussions. We’re also hopeful that members will soon be able to take Protected Industrial Action. Only union members can undertake any protected action, so please encourage your colleagues to join the union today.
