If you’ve been holding your breath while waiting for progress on the CHW Enterprise Agreement, you can finally exhale.

As of yesterday, we have agreement from all parties on the position that the ASU put forward in March, to get you fairly compensated for your patience (if you have any left) and for the time at the end of the new agreement where there is no regular pay rise, as well as ensuring your pay increases are timely.

This is what’s been agreed in principle:

  1. The EBA runs from 28 September 2021 – 27 September 2025;
  2. A $1500 Patience in Bargaining payment will be paid to full-timers (pro-rata for part-timers) once the agreement is live;
  3. Salary and Allowance increases on 28 September 2021, February 2022, February 2023, and February 2024, with backpay to both the first and second increase dates; and
  4. A second Patience in Bargaining payment of $500.00 will be paid to full-timers (pro-rata for part-timers), to be paid on 21 February 2025 in recognition of the gap between the final pay increase and the end of the agreement.

We believe that with these amendments now agreed, your new enterprise agreement is a significant improvement on the last one, as a result of concerted efforts from your fantastic ASU delegates and the Union Branch, under direction of a switched-on and dedicated membership (that’s you!).

As long there are no further surprise amendments, the agreement can now proceed towards a vote and then the Fair Work Commission for finalisation.

Stay tuned for further updates on the timing and details of votes and other process.
