On Thursday 24th June East Gippsland Shire Council responded to ASU bargaining representatives, in relation to claims put forward on your behalf. Whilst EGSC has moved on some claims this is not the case for all of them.
After the last round of membership meetings, members agreed that despite the wages offer being low, we could agree on the offer on the provision that they agreed to the following:
- keep in the agreement the EGSC claim of 12 month salary maintenance following redeployment
- take the parental leave requalification period claim off the table.
- Include a commitment statement to developing a mental health plan
- Include in the dispute resolution clause the ability to dispute matters regarding flexible work requests and extensions of parental leave.
Given EGSC has not agreed to all the above, your representatives need your input on whether to provide in principle agreement or reject the offer outright and consider a vote no campaign.
