ASU members have been raising concerns about the practice of Drug & Alcohol Testing.
The concerns are that the correct procedure and policies regarding Drug & Alcohol testing are not being adhered to.
Members have been getting tapped on the shoulder by managers to get tested and certain groups of employees are being targeted.
The ASU has written to Citywide management raising these serious concerns.
Below is an exact from the policy stating that the testing for Drug & Alcohol is done randomly.
“The new random process is that we are supposed to have management forward us a list of staff including Managers/Team leaders so we can make random selections from there and then bring that list to the site to be randomly tested.”
Clearly, this is not happening, and we ask members to get in touch with the ASU as Citywide is in breach of their own policies and procedures.
We do have a strong ASU Delegate team across most areas of Citywide but we are underrepresented in some areas.
