The ASU campaign is in full swing, with information being handed out to the public across of a number of sites.

The feedback from the public has been great – overwhelmingly they are astounded that the Government would even contemplate this move. We’ve had many pledges of support, and they are getting on board our petition. If you haven’t signed it, you can do so here:

And don’t forget to share it widely.

Exhibition St Hub Underpayment
In our last newsletter, we advised of an issue at VicRoads Exhibition St & Carlton, whereby staff were being forced to do overtime and paid at regular time for the extra work. We had asked Management to conduct an audit to find out the extent of the problem.

We have since learnt that this has been going on as far back as 2016, and Management are in the process of a thorough audit to identify the full amount that needs to be back paid to staff. This is likely to take some time, but it seems staff will be owed some significant back pay. This win only came about because of the diligence and persistence of ASU members and delegates at VicRoads.

The rules are clear, and if you believe they are being applied incorrectly or you are being forced to stay back, please contact the Union asap. And tell your colleagues that the only way to get their entitlements enforced is to join the Union.
