Your ASU bargaining team met with Council management representatives today. A summary of the status of claims can be found here.

The offer has not yet reached the wages expectations of ASU members as endorsed at member meetings in June. We meet again on July 27.

Protected Action Ballot
ASU members will soon receive a ballot from the Australian Electoral Commission. By voting “yes” in a Protected Action Ballot, you are not committing to taking industrial action. Rather, you are agreeing that employees should have the right to do so if required as a last resort.

You can access the ASU How to Vote Card here.

An information sheet from the AEC with the list of protected actions can be downloaded here.

DON’T DELAY: Try to return your postal vote as soon as you can after receiving it due to postage delays.

You can do this via the reply paid envelope if posting prior to Friday 16 July. Alternatively, an express post box will be placed in the Depot, Childcare and Chambers areas with your ASU Delegate, you can return your sealed ballot to one of these express boxes NO LATER THAN COB TUESDAY 20 JULY. We’ll post it for you.

Share this e-mail with your workmates. Local Government union members all around the country advocate for, win and protect conditions every day. But they can’t do it alone. JOIN:
