Delegates play a critical role for the Union in all our workplaces, fighting for members’ rights and ensuring that we have a strong, ongoing presence. Nowhere is this more true than at Lower Murray Water, where Georgia Tilley has been a committed delegate for seven years.
With 23 years’ experience in the water industry and 7 years as a delegate, Georgia has seen it all. She has played an active role in negotiating the last two enterprise agreements, securing some of the best pay and conditions in the industry.
Georgia was a staunch advocate for adopting Family Violence Leave and support at Lower Murray Water before this was adopted as broader public sector policy. Her successful advocacy let to inclusion of Family Violence Leave in the EA.
Georgia is a measured and persistent presence as an ASU workplace rep that members feel comfortable approaching. Georgia has been a great ally to members in need of assistance, both in the office and on the tools, and a voice of reason in advocating for workers’ rights.
