Amanda Pleiter is a Community Safety Officer at Mornington Peninsula Shire Council.
She has been in this role for three years but working in local government for six. For most of her time in local government, Amanda has been a member of the ASU member, and she has been a delegate for five years.
Amanda has part of the ASU bargaining team in the current enterprise agreement negotiations at Mornington Peninsula Shire, where she is very vocal in pushing for good outcomes for members.
Amanda stepped up into the delegate role because she “believes in advocating for workers rights and entitlement within the workplace, in being a voice for those that need support and guidance in issues or concerns in the workplace”.
This approach still rings true for Amanda as she has been instrumental in notifying and collecting information on a potential underpayment of overtime for the Community Safety Officers at Council.
Thank you to Amanda for the work she does for ASU members at Mornington Peninsula Shire.
