Following three stop-works and members’ meeting last week, it’s very clear union members aren’t accepting council’s enterprise agreement (EA) offer!
Council unfortunately didn’t listen to you – their staff – as they came back with no improvement to wages, no change to dispute and disciplinary clauses, and other key items.
We put forward members’ feedback to council on 18 August. Council have indicated it will proceed to put the EA as is to the vote.
Members have been very clear for months that they’re NOT supportive of the EA offer. This is entirely in council’s control to improve their offer!
The access period is now open: 21 August – 4 September – this is your opportunity to review the draft EA and information about the offer and what gains and losses there may be.
Voting period: 5 – 15 September (closes 4p.m.)
We need to echo what our membership is saying and that’s NO DEAL! Let’s get ready to VOTE NO!
It is critical YOU and your co-workers place your vote.
The EA vote doesn’t require a majority of staff to participate in the ballot.
If 50% plus 1 of staff who participate in the vote, vote Yes, this dodgy deal becomes your new terms and conditions of employment.
If 50% plus 1 of staff who participate in the vote, vote No, the EA offer is voted down and we keep working on a better deal –
We will be holding info sessions for members – watch this space!
