The ASU recently made a submission on the future of aged care in Darebin. The ASU’s submission highlighted the necessity of workers having secure decent working conditions in order to deliver high quality care. We of course urged Council to keep home care.
ASU members in HACC services deserve a big thank you for their contributions to council in making submissions to the panel on the future of HACC and aged care at Darebin.
In addition to working at the local level, the ASU is making sure members interests are heard at the national level.
As part of our commitment to protecting and promoting the working conditions and entitlements of members, the ASU will be campaigning hard in the lead up to the federal election. We’ll be campaigning to get an extension of Commonwealth Home Support Program funding beyond 2020.
This will provide more certainty for older people in our communities and secure work for ASU members.
The ASU will also be making submissions to the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety to make sure the commissioners take into account the critical work of ASU members.
This is great that the ASU is supporting this, did the ASU make any submission on behalf of Assessment services
This is great news, I just want yo know in regards in our new EBA when we can get our increase and our back pay when the Darebin Council will release its been 3 months since they give $250 last December as partial payment for back pay but thats it.
