As a result of reducing hospitalisations and increased vaccination rates, the Victorian Government has announced the easing of COVID restrictions from 11.59pm on Friday 25 February.
As part of this easing, workers may return to their workplace from 11:59pm on Friday 25 of February. The new public health orders can be found here
What does this mean for me?
The easing of restrictions does not mean every worker must be back in the office on Monday 28 February. Employers must consult with all employees about their safe return to the office. The consultation must be conducted utilising your enterprise agreement or the OH&S Act 2004.
The ASU has put together this quick FAQ that includes scenarios that may present themselves over the coming weeks. It can be found here
Requirement for Masks
Masks are not required but recommended for workers who are serving or facing members of the public, meeting people at reception or meeting guests.
Vaccination requirements.
For workers who are required to be vaccinated the requirement remains. For workers who are required to have a third dose vaccination timeframes have been extended. Information on this is available here.
