With newspapers full of wage theft and exploitation of workers, it’s important to celebrate the wins unions achieve for working people in Australia.
Recently, thanks to the persistence of ASU delegates, the jobs of 8 casual employees at Wyndham City Council were converted to full-time positions.
The push to get the employees on full time was led by ASU delegates Rob Monohan and Peter Eley.
To its credit, Wyndham City Council was willing to work with us on the matter. And it was a fantastic result for both ASU members and for council.
After a successful year of Enterprise Bargaining at Wyndham City Council, it is great to see the delegates continuing to achieve fantastic results for members across the Council.
The ASU works to improve the working conditions and entitlements of members.
And there can be no greater improvement than the security that comes with a permanent position.
