As the COVID-19 pandemic unfolds, workers like you in the community services sector are busier than ever. Whether you are still working at your workplace or from home, we have all had to adapt to the new reality we face and learn and adapt to new ways of working.

Generally, the ASU has found that employers in the community sector have worked well with staff to make the adjustments that have been required to the way in which we all work. Unfortunately, some employers continue to pursue petty industrial or disciplinary issues and have created additional stress to workers at an already stressful time.

That’s why we are asking employers like yours to sign the community sector charter. It has recently been sent or will soon be sent to your employer.

You can find it here.

It’s just a way for your employer to show that they are prepared to work constructively with the ASU to prioritise what’s important right now – the wellbeing of you and your clients during these unprecedented times.

If you have any questions about this charter or want to arrange a workplace meeting with the ASU please contact your delegate, your ASU organiser or contact the ASU member contact centre at
