As the Covid-19 pandemic unfolds, workers in the community services sector are busier than ever.

Whether you are still working at your place of work or from home, we have all had to adapt to new ways of working.

Generally, the ASU has found that employers in the community sector have worked well with staff to make the required adjustments to how we work.

Unfortunately, some employers continue to pursue petty industrial or disciplinary issues. This is happening at a time when workers are already dealing with extra stress.

That’s why we are asking employers like yours to sign the Community Sector Charter. The Charter has recently been sent, or will soon be sent, to your employer.

You can find it here

The Charter is a way for your employer to show that they are prepared to work constructively with the ASU and prioritise what’s important right now – the wellbeing of you and your clients.

If you have any questions about this Charter or want to arrange a workplace meeting with the ASU, please get in touch with your delegate, your ASU organiser or the ASU Member Contact Centre at
