The current Citywide Enterprise Agreement expired on June 30 of this year. With this Agreement expiring Citywide approached the ASU to discuss rolling the current Agreement over for another 12 months. The understanding is that a new Agreement would then be negotiated next year.
As part of the rollover, Citywide made a pay offer so that members would not be disadvantaged. An offer of a 3% pay rise backdated to the expiration of the Agreement and a sign-on bonus of $350.
There will be no other changes to conditions.
The ASU’s approach to this offer was to undertake exhaustive consultation with Citywide members across Melbourne to gauge their opinion on this offer. As part of this consultation, the ASU visited Citywide sites at Green St, Bayswater, Dynon Rd, Cheltenham, Moorabbin, Notting Hill and South Melbourne. From these meetings, it was apparent that an overwhelming majority of members support the Citywide offer.
All Citywide staff will now have the opportunity to vote on the proposed rollover between August 3 and August 5.
The ASU also believes the rollover is the fastest and most effective way to put money in the pockets of members now. As such we would encourage members to vote yes to roll the current Agreement over.
