ASU Officials and committed Delegates have been in communication with CWW Management, as we all confront the COVID-19 pandemic.
The ASU is committed to ensuring that member safety is paramount to safeguard the working conditions and lives of our membership.
The following is a list of what has been secured to date as a result of delegates advocacy
- Leave entitlements:
If leave entitlements have been exhausted an employee can access up to 2 weeks Special paid leave. for any personal illness or the caring of a family member.
- Working from home arrangements:
Flexibility in place across the span of hours (7am -7pm) to balance caring responsibilities and work requirements. A $100 WFH set up allowance in place to offset any related costs. Soft-touch phone technology in place, therefore, removing the need for personal phones use, any current phone allowances to continue.
- Guarantee of ongoing and future employment:
CWW are strongly committed to future and ongoing employment therefore commit to prompt communication and invite consultations, in the event matters of ongoing employment is at any foreseeable risk.
- Clear definition of essential vs non-essential.
CWW has made initial determinations based on the critical roles as identified in its business continuity plans. This is to ensure business operations can be maintained and customer service can continue to operate. The ASU is continuing to have active and open discussions across this critical matter.
- Classification review:
The next meeting will now be in late May. Timelines along with the impacts of the current pandemic on work practices to be discussed.
All parties agreed to maintain regular (and more urgent if needed) lines of communication and to work collaboratively, which is critical at this confronting time for all.
The ASU will continue to assert that the CWW measures in place in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic abide by the Victorian Public Sector Guidelines, therefore another meeting will be requested as a matter of priority. We will keep you updated.
