Access to new EBA entitlement
The ASU and your Delegates have been meeting weekly with HR about the current Stage 4 COVID-19 restrictions.

The ASU has been getting some calls from distressed parents regarding working from home, trying to manage young children, homeschooling and workload, as well as members who are feeling very stressed during the lockdown.

The ASU would like to remind members of the new entitlement we negotiated in the current EBA No 9.

Members can now access 4 days of emotional wellbeing leave per annum, as well as 3 days personal without having to provide any satisfactory evidence to Council. You also can access Carer’s leave.

Don’t forget to use Councils EAP provider, where you can access up to 10 sessions.

Now is the time to step up and become more proactive in your role making sure you are being consulted and consulting with your workgroup on COVID-19 Planning and other OH&S matters.

If you need any further assistance, please contact the ASU Member Contact Centre at

Union membership has never been more important than now, the more members we have, the more power we have.

We still have a long way to go over the next few weeks, so speak to your ASU delegates and encourage non-members to join the ASU who are fighting hard for everyone.

The ASU, as always, IS BY YOUR SIDE.
