The ASU was called to an urgent meeting on Wednesday 4 September with the CoM CEO. The purpose of the meeting was to consult on a proposed realignment of the organisational structure at the CoM. This realignment of the stricture will take place over the next few weeks.

The CEO has made it quite clear that the realignment of the organisational structure will only affect senior management positions and that there are no planned or anticipated redundancies for ASU members who are covered by the enterprise agreement.

The CEO also stated that for many work areas, there will be no significant change.  But for some it will mean that you are partnered with a new team, join a new group or change in accommodation or will have a new reporting line.

The time line set out for consultation is 4 – 17 September. ELT will consider feedback from 18 – 22 September and a final structure will be announced on 23 September. This final structure will be made available to all staff on that date.

The ASU encourages any affected by the proposed changes to provide feedback to query@melbourne.vic.gov.au

However, if you are not comfortable with providing feedback directly to CoM please send all feedback to one of your ASU delegates or ASU Organiser Sean McCourt at smccourt@asuvictas.com.au .

All Feedback is required before 17 September.

Please circulate this newsletter to all other staff members and put on your notice boards and in your lunch rooms and encourage non-members to join their union
