ASU Officers and Delegates attended the CoM staff consultation Committee last Tuesday 7 April.
The CEO gave a presentation on what actions CoM are proposing regarding the COVID-19 Crisis.
You would have been requested by your manager to fill in a spreadsheet regarding your present work, and your skillset, to see if you can be redeployed elsewhere should the need arise.
Other questions were also asked regarding different options including reduced working hours and accessing leave entitlements. Staff should have, by now, been informed of various options available to them.
CoM will collect this data over the next few weeks to try to redeploy staff with no work into other alternative duties.
At present nobody is being forced to agree at this stage.
CoM has also stated that the accrual of all ADOs will cease during this Crisis, except for OSC and ANMF Staff, to create more flexibility for everyone.
The ASU has sought assurances from CoM that this is only a temporary measure during this crisis.
For all staff presently working a 9 day fortnight/19 day Month roster arrangement, the accrual entitlement will be reinstated once things return to normal. This will not affect any current accrued ADO’s. these can still be accessed.
The ASU is working hard with CoM to avoid any standing down of staff and also ensuring that your delegates are being consulted during this difficult period.
We still have a long way to go over the next few weeks, so speak to your Delegates and encourage non-members to join the ASU, who are fighting hard for everyone.
