The ASU and Delegates recently held a meeting with HACC services management.

The meeting was to clarify some concerns from delegates and members in regard to:

  • Sending DCWs to other areas with no prior knowledge of area and clients, management have responded that this should not happen unless it is an emergency.
  • Number of gaps in rosters, extremely low hours and hours being allocated to casuals. Management have denied that this is happening and will speak to the staff responsible for rostering to advise that permanent employees should be getting first offer any additional hours before been allocated to casuals. ASU and delegates will continue to get feedback from members in regard to this matter.
  • If you are having meetings or have been requested to attend any meeting in regard to My Hume Review or 1-1 meetings with your team supervisor these meetings are paid meeting and paid time should be allocated on your roster as per EBA clause S1.2.1. If this is not happening please speak to one of your delegates.
  • Working in extreme weather conditions. Refer to the relevant policy and let your supervisor know that when the conditions are too dangerous to work or to drive to work, don’t do it and put yourself in unnecessary risk, but make sure to inform your supervisor/Team leader.

The ASU and HACC ASU Delegates will continue to monitor the above concerns and will be seeking a further meeting with HACC management next month.
