ASU members, supporters from other unions and organisations, and concerned members of the public attended the COGG Council meeting on Friday 26 April.

This was to protest against Council’s brutal decision to axe 19 Jobs in the Community Life directorate.

Some Councillors did pre-empt further cuts to jobs and services in Leisure and Recreation, this is a major concern to us and you.

There will be proper consultation with the ASU and affected staff but we want to hear from you.

This is further evidence of incompetent financial management, where ASU members are paying the price.

The ASU will be fighting back on any other proposed jobs being axed and will be keeping Council accountable with further protests.

Now is the time to join your union so chat to a workmate about the importance of joining the ASU. It’s easy for anyone to join online at www.asu.asn.au/asujoin
