Last week we received the news that the EBA ballot was voted up by a significant majority of employees.

As at the close of ballot 12pm AEDT 1 February 2022, the results were:

  • YES – (I approve the proposed Agreement) = 87.89% (697 employees)
  • NO – (I reject the proposed Agreement) = 12.10% (96 employees)

The ASU wants to acknowledge the contribution of your Delegates who made a significant contribution to this EBA process and outcome, attending and contributing at many lengthy meetings and reviewing documents, including in the early January period at the final stages of the EBA.

Wage Offer including arrangements for back pay
Council agreed to back pay the first payment of 2.3% from October 1, if the proposed Agreement was voted up, regardless of the review and approval process to be undertaken by the FWC.

INDOOR STAFF – The payment will be made on 2 March.
OUTDOOR STAFF-
The payment will be made on 23 February.

The Unions have reminded Council of the importance of getting this right, as the back pay payment will also need to include the tax on the Leave Loading payment which was incorrectly paid in December last year to indoor staff.
