ASU members have raised concerns regarding the restructure that is taking place across City of Boroondara Libraries.

Members felt there had been a lack of consultation compared to previous major changes and that this was setting a dangerous precedent for consultation moving forward.

It is vital that members have the opportunity to have their union involved as early as possible when major changes are being implemented.

Following advocacy by the ASU the City of Boroondara has agreed on a way forward and to be consistent with consultation especially when it comes to notifying the ASU of any Major Change and ensuring that ASU can represent members throughout the consultation process from the beginning.

Council have scheduled some drop in meetings across all branches over the next few weeks which will allow staff to ask any questions and give feedback regarding the new leadership structure and the process and have invited ASU Servicing Organiser Emma Bagg to attend.

To give library staff a chance to provide feedback and ask questions about the new leadership structure, the City has scheduled drop-in meetings at branches. ASU Organiser Emma Bagg will be attending all but the first of these meetings.
