Yesterday your ASU representatives negotiated on the remaining areas of dispute. Further negotiation is scheduled for next week.

We have put the member-endorsed counter proposal on wages.

6% from approval of the Agreement (inclusive award increase from 1 July 2022)
2.7% from FFPPOA 1 July 2023 or 1.5% above the national adjusted Award rate whichever is the greater
2.6% from FFPPOA 1 July 2024 or 1.5% above the national adjusted Award rate whichever is the greater

Backpay of 4.6% Award adjustment payable from 1 July. (Already passed on in most cases).

Management agreed to remove individual substitution of public holidays and ASU is checking the new community service leave clause.

VHIA have said that they will respond to the following outstanding matters.

  • Clinical Supervision
  • Additional days of personal leave without a certificate – 2 claimed
  • Public Holidays – the treatment of ‘additional’ public holidays (to ensure they are not lost.)
  • Public Holidays during Long Service Leave (to ensure they are not lost.)

In addition, we have requested information on the number of employees impacted by the collapse of relativities on the above band pay points 1.4, 2.5, 3.5, 4.5 and 5.4.

The ASU and your delegates have been repeatedly frustrated by VHIA’s refusal to provide the ASU with information on the number of employees covered by the Agreement at each Centre. This information is critical in reaching agreement and conducting a ballot. The ASU has sought this information under the Act and hopes we can soon enlighten your representatives.

Do something for yourself today, share this newsletter with your nonmember colleagues and explain how union membership delivers improved wages and conditions.
