Wondering what’s happening with the Enterprise Agreement? We’ve got an update for you here, plus there’ll be two meetings on Thursday 10 February to take direction from you.
In short, 4 months after bargaining wrapped up, DELWP (the government department that oversees water authorities) has made some pretty serious amendments to CHW’s position on the new enterprise agreement. You read that right, 4 months after DELWP were provided with a copy of the agreement, they’ve proposed a significant change…
They want to push your pay rise back from the agreed February date, to November of each year of the agreement. This means a 9-month wait for your annual pay rise. Even worse, they say that if we say no to that proposal, your 2% pay rise will be dropped to 1.5% because we’ll technically be reopening bargaining after the cut off for the change in government policy, to address the pay rise timing.
Your ASU Delegates and Organisers have informed management that this is a significant departure from agreements made last year and that we’ll need to take direction from you, the members, on how to proceed.
We have a couple of options to run past you, including the potential for industrial action if you want to take that route.
