Agreement negotiations started in March this year. We have pushed for improvements and maintaining good work conditions. It is now time for workers to decide if this enough or that we keep striving for a better deal. Australian Services Union recommends that workers vote no to the latest offer.

Pay
ASU representatives stood up for everyone and argued that the huge effort made by everyone during the covid pandemic needed to be recognised and rewarded. The offer from the Shire is less than what was in the old agreement. We don’t think it’s fair to go backwards.

Pay offer from management

  • 1.1% or $12.50ppp per week, whichever is the greater, payable from the pay period commencing 8 November 2021.
  • 1.2% or $12.50ppp per week, whichever is the greater, payable from the pay period commencing 7 November 2022.
  • 1.2% or $12.50ppp per week, whichever is the greater, payable from the pay period commencing 13 November 2023.

Conditions
We want you to get a better deal on working from home, classification/banding and higher duties.

What’s next?
We all have this week to read the whole document. Voting opens on Tuesday 20 July. ASU says vote No! We want to strive for a better result than this.
