Following member consultation, it was very clear that members wanted the ASU to continue to pursue a dollar amount for the wages increase and improvements to the backpay.

We put forward members feedback to council on Monday 10 May in preparation for our meeting on Wednesday 12 May.

Council, unfortunately, didn’t listen to you – their staff – as they came back with no improvement to the wages. Instead, they put forward an additional 2 weeks of paid parental leave and increased compassionate leave.

Members were very clear in that they were NOT supportive of the agreement without a dollar amount being present.

We are now waiting on Council to provide the draft document which may have a reduction in entitlements that they were seeking through their log of claims.  Stay tuned for a comprehensive list once the draft document has been received.

We need to echo what our membership is saying and that’s NO DEAL! Let’s get ready to VOTE NO!
