The ASU has been notified of the outcome of the Enterprise Agreement (EA) vote which unfortunately did not result in the agreement being voted down.
Whilst the union has concerns about aspects of the EA, we acknowledge the persistence of the ASU negotiating team, who succeeded in getting a better offer for workers, through the negotiations. The inclusion of backpay and a sign on bonus would not have been included if it wasn’t for the hard work and dedication of your delegates advising that the offer wasn’t good enough.
We’re here for the long game too. The ASU membership and delegate network grew throughout this process, and the high voter turnout demonstrates an engaged workforce. The union will keep working with working with members to make Casey, and local government, a better place to work over the life of this EA.
We would like to thank each of our ASU delegates who participated in the negotiations, made sure members were kept updated and took time out of their workday to attend these meetings which went for many, many months.
Together we are stronger. Ask a co-worker to join the ASU at www.asu.asn.au/asujoin
