The Australian Services Union is dedicated to protecting and improving members wages, hours and working conditions.

Unions and their delegates play an important role in the workplace by being a voice for employees and acting as a bargaining representative during negotiations.

This bargaining may include the negotiation of wages, work practices, dispute procedures, recruitment, disciplinary and termination protocols, benefits, workplace safety and company policies.

The ASU is well aware of the challenges faced by the non-government sector and the nature of never-ending funder cycles.

Employers, not for profits included, have a responsibility to provide a safe workplace, fair pay and conditions.  Responsibly, salaries and all related operational costs of providing services must be accounted for in funding grants and the donations secured. It is the responsibility of the Board/Executive/Management team to ensure the financial viability of an organisation.
