COVID-19
The ASU is continuing to work “By Your Side” to ensure members’ safety. We are also making sure your jobs and your work conditions are maintained. The union has developed, among other matters, EBA draft clauses covering paid leave for such situations.

Working for Victoria Programme
The ASU has lobbied successfully for the Victorian State Government to implement this scheme, which provides employment opportunities for local workers who have lost their jobs because of the pandemic. Please make these people feel welcome & encourage them strongly to join ASU.

Enterprise Agreement
The current EBA reaches its nominal expiry date on December 3 2021, & negotiations for a replacement one are due no later than September 3 2021.

The current EBA contains some very advantageous protections & benefits for union members, among them (as examples): (i) Clause 8.2.3: “Review Vacant Positions”, (ii) Clause 12: “Consultation Regarding Major Workplace Change”, & (iii) Clause 31: “Annual Reviews”.

ASU Delegates
A current Delegate Who’s Who document is currently being put together. When complete, this will be placed on all workplace notice boards. Can those ASU Delegates who have not yet provided their photo please do so ASAP?

Workplace challenges face us daily, the union is always there to assist.

The ASU recruitment competition is underway until September, $500 is up for grabs for the member who recruits the most new people.
