Last week we met with management and the Fair Work Commissioner Yilmaz. The advice from Fair Work was to speak with members about personal leave, flexibility to work from home and pay. We then met with union representatives from the Nurses Union (ANMF) and Engineers (Professionals Australia) and all unions are committed to improving wages and conditions at Brimbank.

This week ASU Delegates met with members to discuss these latest developments in our Enterprise Agreement negotiations.

Thank you members for your participation in all the union meetings. It is really positive that members support the new proposal to request work from home arrangements. We are still trying to reach an agreement on personal leave and requirements for either statutory declarations or medical certificates. The pay offer of 1.75%, 1.5%, 1.5% was voted down in the first vote and we are working hard to try to improve what is being offered. We are also continuing to work closely with management to ensure that the consolidation of all parts of the agreement protects your hard-earned current conditions of employment.

What’s next?
ASU has written to all unions and management to propose a  meeting on Tuesday 7 December at 10am to negotiate a great offer.
