The ASU and other unions met with council representatives yesterday to continue negotiations for your new Enterprise Agreement (EA). Council, unfortunately, cancelled the last meeting, and though the ASU and ANMF offered alternate times to reschedule the time there was a gap between sessions.
Whilst some progress is slowly being made, we are still working through claims to clarify positions. Council’s log of claims was provided in writing between meetings and can be viewed here.
Council’s log currently includes that the first pay rise on offer applies from the date that we either reach agreement in principle or a successful all staff vote. Your last pay rise was 1 October 2020. At the meeting yesterday the ASU formally asked Benalla to reconsider their position that the pay offer is framed conditionally like this. Benalla is to respond to this, before or at the next EA meeting on 27 October and we’ll keep you in the loop.
We are working hard to progress your claims and get clarity and hope to be in a position to hold members meetings soon after the next EA meeting where we can share responses to ASU claims and discuss next steps.
