Thank you to all who participated in member meetings last week. There are a number of great improvements achieved in the proposed EA that address ASU claims. While members were positive about the draft, they expressed concerns about the pay offer and we took this back to Council.

As a result, we have achieved some further improvements to the pay offer on the basis of a 4-year agreement;

  • Council have now agreed to include a minimum % pay increase of 1.75% each year. Members felt this was an important safeguard in case the rate cap dropped.
  • A slight increase to the dollar amounts, (originally $25 all years), now progressing each year: $25, $26, $27 and $28. This was well-received by delegates as it builds on work towards a fairer pay structure. For the first year, the $25 amount means lower banded workers will be receiving a pay increase greater than the rate cap.

A brief summary of the improvements and the revised pay offer can be found here.

We will be holding online member meetings this week to seek member endorsement of the proposed Agreement.
