Barwon Water management has written to the ASU to advise of proposed changes at the Customer Centre.
In accordance with consultation provisions of your Barwon Water Enterprise Agreement, now is your chance to have your say.
Included in the communications to the Union are the following key messages;
- 6 of the 8 positions translate into the new structure. Under these circumstances, employees will transition across to the new structure.
- Where an employee’s position is not included in the new structure a redeployment opportunity is available for this employee. Where the role is classified a band lower than their current band, it is proposed that their rate of pay would be maintained at a level equivalent to their current classification. Their rate of pay would be maintained at this rate, through absorption of the Enterprise Agreement increases, until the rate of pay reflects the classification of the redeployed position. The employee would continue to be eligible for Top of Band payments, dependant on meeting the requirements contained within the Enterprise Agreement.
- There are some newly created roles within the new structure. These positions will be advertised (should they not be accepted as a redeployment opportunity). Recruitment for these positions will commence once the consultation period has concluded and any matters raised have been considered by management.
- In keeping with the provisions of the current Barwon Water Enterprise Agreement, clause 8.2, Barwon Water is providing affected employees with an opportunity to raise any matters for management’s consideration in relation to the Customer Centre department restructure by 5pm on Friday 28 February 2020. All matters will be given prompt and genuine consideration
