On Tuesday 20 July, the Consultative Committee met to hear managements response to the 4 non-monetary items that the ASU had previously tabled.

These were:

  1. 3 days paid leave between Christmas and New Year with alternate arrangements for those that are required to work during this period
  2. Option for all full-time employees to work a 9 day fortnight
  3. Guarantee job security for all permanent staff
  4. Commitment to increase BCC superannuation payments should SGC increase

BCC Management team have declined 3 of the 4 requests put forward only agreeing to keep your superannuation payments 3% above SGC.

Whilst we all understand we must play our part in the ‘recovery’ from COVID, we strongly believe that the 4 requests were not unreasonable in lieu of accepting a 0% wage increase.
