We’re at crunch time in the Banyule Council EBA, and your ASU bargaining representatives need to hear from YOU about whether to say yes or no to management’s position.

The main items for discussion are:

  • Latest pay offer/duration of the Agreement
  • Loss of 25% loading for permanent leisure/school crossing staff
  • Removal of Saturday penalty rates for social and disability support work

The offer has been improving, but there are some stand-out concerns from the ASU:

  • Not enough wage security when faced with rising inflation
  • Mainly low paid, part-time, female workers being disadvantaged!
  • Lack of willingness of Council to take unpopular claims off the table compared to other parties (ASU took a LOT of smaller claims off to help reach agreement, Banyule have stuck to almost all of theirs)

We need to hear from ALL members on how we respond to what Council are calling their final position, having ended the scheduled negotiation meetings.

There is also an important issue to talk about Banyule Council’s approach to disciplinary action.
