The proposal explains the rationale for change as:
- Rebalancing the structure to be better equipped to deliver on councils commitments and community expectations
- Reducing The organisation to four divisions – business services, community wellbeing, strategy and growth, assets and infrastructure.
- Having HR and Governance report directly to the CEO.
There are no planned reductions in positions below the executive leadership level.
Per the Ballarat City Council Enterprise Agreement 2019, employees impacted by the proposed changes are entitled to consultation, and to have their views represented by their Union.
Council is required to give prompt consideration to matters raised by the employees concerning the changes.
ASU Organiser Will Wyatt at email@example.com is keen to hear members views on the proposal, and assist in formulating a response with those employee impacted by the change.
Feedback provided to ASU will be collated and provided to the employer by the deadline of Monday 27 July, Feedback to the ASU is requested to be received no later than Friday 24 July 2020.
The ASU will be holding an online members’ meeting for ASU members Tuesday
While Organisers are limited in their ability to conduct site visits, and many of you are working from home, online meetings provide members with the opportunities to ask questions, raise concerns, and give feedback about your worksite and your union.
We will also have a representative from Vision Super, to answer any questions you might have about your superannuation right now.
