After extensive consultation with ASU members & delegates the ASU has compiled your log of claims, and is ready for members approval to serve it on your employer.
Your union has vetted the claims put forward by members to ensure there are no illegal, objectionable or discriminatory terms or conditions being claimed.
How do we get members to approve the log of claims,
Any member may submit their objection to a claim. Either in writing or by calling ASU organiser Will Wyatt on 0418 320 625
Any late claims will assessed on a case by case basis as to whether they are added to the log. The bargaining team are mindful that additional claims may delay the log getting to management and delay negotiations.
Conduct of negotiations.
The ASU has met with Management and other unions to program meetings and table logs of claims from other participants.
The making of the agreement is being dealt with in two parts.
- There is the consolidation of the existing agreement, this is technically smashing together the parts. (Parts A, B, C and the core component of the 2016 agreement) (you can download the Ballarat City Council enterprise Agreement no 7 2016 here) this is being conducted exclusively between unions and the COB HR Unit. This is more drafting than negotiation. The proposed consolidated document can be downloaded here.
- The negotiations will then be in respect to the consolidated agreement which will be released to members as soon as confirmation of its accuracy is reached.
The bargaining team intend to serve the approved log of claims on management at the next meeting Wednesday June 19th and we’ll meet fortnightly until the agreement is put to vote, or talks break down.
The ASU protects, promotes and improves the working conditions and entitlements of our members.
