We urge all members to VOTE NO as you deserve a better pay increase!

VOTE NO – to show the Business you have had enough of their disgraceful tactics!
The Management’s first strategy was to create Voter Fatigue, when this failed for the Business and they realised that a 2nd No Vote was imminent they cancelled the vote which was scheduled to open on Friday 2 November 2018 and postponed it by 2 weeks!!  The next strategy we are predicting the Business will use is to tell employees that the Business can’t afford to increase the offer any further – that their bucket really is empty and if they were to increase the offer then they would need to start cutting jobs!  These reprehensible tactics are commonly used by Employers.  Don’t fall for this trick – the small amount we are asking them to increase the offer by would cost the Business approx. $30,000.00 per year which  does not amount to the cost of even one full time employee!  Another commonly used tactic is to compare your conditions to the relevant Award.  Again, don’t be fooled – your Enterprise Agreement came into effect well before the Award which was released in 2010. An Enterprise Agreement is to enable you to negotiate your own above award terms and conditions.  You have never been compared to the Award so why now?

VOTE NO – as the Business’ bargaining conduct has been appalling!
The actions of the Business in DELAYING the EBA vote which was scheduled for Friday 2 November 2018 at 9am BY TWO WEEKS are UNACCEPTABLE and NOT IN GOOD FAITH.  This was done by giving LESS THAN 24 HOURS’ NOTICE and with NO CONSULTATION with the ASU or the other employee bargaining representatives. Management delayed the vote due to claims that:
“there remains a significant amount of confusion around the offer, and Aurora has also become aware that some information has been distributed that does not accurately reflect what is offered in the proposed Enterprise Agreement”. When the ASU requested details of these claims, the Business failed to provide adequate explanation. This unacceptable conduct is another reason to VOTE NO in the upcoming EBA vote.

VOTE NO – because the ALT are definitely out of touch with reality!
The Business claims to be a low cost retailer and wants employees to stay in line with expectations by accepting a low wages increase – yet the Annual Report this year shows that the Executive Group (ALT), over the past 3 years, accepted an average wage increase of over 10%!! Employees covered by the EBA were only given 5% over 3 years.  Where is the fairness in that!

VOTE NO – because Hobart CPI has just been released for September 2017 to September 2018 at 2.7%!  If your wage increase doesn’t keep up with CPI you are in effect taking a PAY CUT!

A majority NO VOTE is the only way that we can get Management back to the negotiation table again and bargain for a genuinely FAIR and REASONABLE ENTERPRISE AGREEMENT!
