ASU elections are conducted by the Australian Electoral Commission which is the same government agency that conducts federal elections.
The ASU is a democratically run union – Officers of the Union are elected every four years and all eligible members are entitled to vote in the election.
The election is members’ opportunity to have a say on who fills important roles in the union for the next 4 years.
The election is conducted by postal ballot, so eligible members have already or will soon receive ballot papers in the mail from the AEC.
For a vote to be counted it must be received by the AEC by no later than 5pm on 15 May 2019.
A copy of the AEC’s report on the election will be available from the ASU or from the Returning Officer after the completion of the election.
The Returning Officer for the election is Allison Valentine who can be contacted on 03 9285 7177 or email@example.com
