Your Enterprise Agreement will now proceed to registration with the Fair Work Commission- this can take time. Importantly, the wage increase of 2% will be backdated to 1 July and paid in your next pay period.
Congratulations to members who are pleased with the outcome. For those who may have hoped for more, rest assured the union remains by your side during the term of this agreement and at the next round of Enterprise Bargaining. Getting involved and working collectively, you can protect and improve conditions at work.
ASU Bargaining Representatives secured many claims including increases to superannuation and the introduction of primary carer parental leave for the first time: you can view the ASU Log of Claims Tracker here.
In response to the ASU’s claim to increase the Objectionable/Adverse Conditions Allowances and build it into base salary (which was not accepted in full), Council proposed changes to:
7.12. OBJECTIONABLE / ADVERSE CONDITIONS ALLOWANCE
We are keen to work with members on ensuring they access this allowance. This will strengthen a future claim to build this into salary. Remember, you only need to participate work ‘in the hour’ to be paid 1 hours worth of the allowance. We will hold a meeting in February to further discuss.

5.1. TIME OFF IN LIEU (TOIL)
These changes have now been accepted by vote of the workforce.
We will be in touch in the New Year to ensure all members understand and ensure they receive the entitlements consistent with the EA.
