The Morrison Government have signalled that they will not fund the equal pay payments that ASU members fought so hard to win nearly a decade ago.

Funding contracts are now being written that do not factor in the equal pay funding that has increased your wage by up to 45%, beyond 2020.

So from 2020, your employer will have to pay you the award rate plus the equal pay component but the Morrison government will only fund the modern award rate.

This will mean redundancies and agencies closing their doors if we don’t fight back against these outrageous cuts.

ASU members like you have formed a campaign committee to stand up against these cuts.

The next ASU community sector campaign meeting will be held at:

DATE: Wednesday 5 February
TIME: 6:00pm
VENUE: ASU Office, 116 Queensberry St, Carlton

Please RSVP below.

We’d love to see you at this meeting and please try to bring along a fellow member or two.

If you’d like to organise a workplace meeting to discuss the campaign aims please contact your organiser or contact the ASU at or on 1300 855 570.

You can also encourage those colleagues yet to join the ASU to do so at

Next year is going to be huge for ASU community sector members and we hope that you have a really restful festive season and come back ready to join with your fellow ASU members to make the federal government pay up for equal pay.

All of us at the ASU want to say how much we’ve enjoyed working with you all this year.

Have a great break.
