Delegates have advised the ASU that Council has notified staff that lunch breaks will now be reduced to 33 minutes instead of 45 minutes.
Members were concerned that this was a reduction in their conditions of employment as they have had a 45-minute lunch break for over 12 years.
The ASU wrote to Council and copied all your Parks and Gardens delegates into the email as we also were concerned this was a reduction in your conditions of employment.
Council did not share our view but have put a proposal on the table to try and resolve the matter and now we need to meet to discuss the proposal and vote.
An approved paid meeting is scheduled as follows:
DATE: Tuesday 13 April
TIME: 7.15am
VENUE: Lunchroom at Inkerman Rd Caulfield Depot
By encouraging your workmates to join the ASU we will have a stronger voice for workers at Stonnington City Council. It is easy for anyone who is not yet a member to join online at www.asu.asn.au/asujoin
