On Tuesday the ASU notified Launch HR that ASU members would be implementing a 24 hour strike, effective from 12am Monday 23 May.

Strike day action

Date: Monday 23 May (DAY OF STRIKE)
Time: 12.30pm
Where: Out the front of 50 Lonsdale St Melbourne City, DFFH building

Attend the strike day action to pressure DFFH

A large member and community action at DFFH will pressure the department to step in and make Launch play fair!.

If you are an ASU member, you cannot be stopped from striking or discriminated against for doing so.

Management might try to pressure you, tell you that you can’t, change policies to prevent you from implementing bans, or make you feel guilty about standing up for your rights. If this happens:

  1. Politely remind them that you have a legal right to do this
  2. Record the date, time, location and what was said and give it to an ASU Delegate
  3. Ask them to support the action because it affects their job too!

 Communication is key

Industrial action hinges on two things: participation and communication!

ASU Delegates and Officials have a WhatsApp group that allows instant questions, answers, and updates. If something doesn’t seem right, let them know.

If you’re not sure about something, ask an ASU Delegate or Official!

Remember, only ASU members are protected in taking strike action, so if you know someone who isn’t an ASU member, ask them to support the fight for better pay and conditions by joining today: www.asu.asn.au/ASUJoin.
