We’ve been at the bargaining table for some time to negotiate a new enterprise agreement at Mansfield Shire. Management has recently put a revised wage offer on the table, but it still falls short of cost-of-living increases. ASU members have instructed us to reject this offer.
Management has indicated that they will put the enterprise agreement out to a vote of all employees in early April.
For an enterprise agreement to be approved, it must be endorsed by 50% of the staff who vote. All employees (including non ASU members) are eligible to vote. If employees vote no to the enterprise agreement, then it will not be approved by the Fair Work Commission and we can continue to bargain for a better deal.
It’s time to send a message to management! No more bullying! No more unpaid overtime! It’s time for a fair wage deal!
At lunchtime on 5 April, we will be holding a meeting at the Mansfield Youth Centre, Erril Street. We encourage you to come along and bring non-members along too. This is an important meeting to discuss the enterprise agreement vote and the other workplace issues such as unpaid overtime and bullying facing workers at Mansfield.
Where: Youth Centre Erril St
When: 12.30pm, Tuesday 5 April
