Over the last few months, your ASU delegates have been meeting with management fortnightly to discuss Council’s response to Covid-19. This consultation was hard fought for by ASU members, and Maribyrnong Council has tried everything to evade union scrutiny.
The delegates would like the opportunity to report back on this consultation and get further feedback from members, so we will be hosting an online members meeting on Wednesday 21 October at 3pm.
What: Maribyrnong ASU member meeting
When: Wednesday 21 October, 3pm

Under the current restrictions it is unlikely that workers, other than library staff and outdoor workers, will be returning to the workplace any time soon. Your ASU Organisers are trying to do their bit to stop the spread of coronavirus by limiting our workplace visits, and moving meetings online if we can. Having said that, Union Organisers are permitted workers even under the strictest level of coronavirus restrictions, so if there is an urgent need for us to physically visit your workplace, please get in touch. If you have an urgent problem related to your safety at work, your Industry Organiser, David Beckley has an ARREO permit which allows him to enter your worksite immediately.
There’s never been a more important time to be a union member, forward this email to your colleagues and encourage them to join. New members are very welcome at the upcoming meeting.
