After our January members meeting, ASU went back to Management and put to them the unanimous position of members.
Specifically, we stated that we would accept the wages offer providing that we can retain the Sewer B allowance.
Management have since replied that they are not willing to do this – that the wages offer stands, but only on the proviso that Sewer B is removed.
Just a reminder, the wages offer is as follows:
- Year 1 | 3.25%
- Year 2 | 3.0%
- Year 3 | 3.0%
- Year 4 | 3.25%
So we have two options. Either we accept this offer, or we hold another protected action ballot, and try to get some bans happening.
To be clear, this is the end of the line as far as bargaining is concerned. Management have made it clear that they will not move their position through more bargaining, so we either accept the offer, or we take action.
It is now up to you.
What do you want to do: either accept the offer (with removal of Sewer B Allowance) OR reject the offer and hold another protected action ballot?
