Due to an administrative error, the delegate nomination for Ross Moraes was not sent to members to give them an opportunity to vote. Therefore, we are restarting the nomination process.
Members should be aware that Ross’s nomination is as an additional delegate within the Aged and Disability department and does not displace existing delegates Judy Harbourd, Anne Maree Meade, Hayley Gent, Elenoura Tamurini or Pauline Kiki who work across various areas of the department.
As a member of the ASU, you are invited to participate in a vote.
Please provide any objections or support for this nomination by emailing ASU Organiser Hayley Davies by close of business Wednesday 6 April 2022.
If there is a majority of support for the nomination Ross will be declared elected as an ASU Delegate.
What do delegates do?
ASU Delegates are the essential link between ASU members at each workplace and the broader union. Effective delegates can identify issues and provide information to officials of our union to make sure members’ rights and conditions are protected.
Delegates can provide representation, support and advice to members as well as build the union by providing information and raising awareness of union issues with staff. An ASU Delegate is someone who is your representative and is elected by you.
